Reel in Redfish and Bluefish on Roanoke Island's Hotspots!

Non-stop bites all day long! That's how I'd sum up our summer fishing adventure with Erlin and their crew out of Manteo, NC. Our persistence paid off when Erlin's crew hooked into a monster Redfish. After an impressive fight, we brought the beauty on board, measuring in at a whopping 37 inches! It was definitely a highlight of our trip with Salty Charters. The action didn't stop there. We also managed to land some feisty Bluefish, with the largest coming in at 23 inches. These hard-fighting fish provided some great sport and kept the rods bent throughout the day. As we worked different spots around Roanoke Island, we found success with each technique we tried. What a great day on the water, couldn't ask for more action! Summer fishing in Manteo, NC is always a treat, and this trip with Stephen was no exception. Manteo Fishing Report: June 19, 2024 Weather Conditions: Sunny skies with a gentle breeze from the southeast. Temperatures range from 75°F to 85°F. Water Conditions: Clear and calm waters with temperatures averaging 70°F. Fishing Highlights: Striped Bass: Good action near the inlet and along the shoreline using live bait and topwater lures. Red Drum: Active around marsh edges and deeper channels, biting on cut bait and soft plastics. Spanish Mackerel: Schools spotted offshore, with trolling and casting yielding success on small spoons and jigs.
