I had an excellent experience with Captain John from start to finish. He was respectful, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. What stood out most was his willingness to teach and explain things in depth. He didn’t just guide the trip, he made it an opportunity to learn, answering every question with patience and detail. His professionalism and approachable demeanor made the outing both enjoyable and educational. I would highly recommend Captain John to anyone looking for not only a safe and smooth trip but also a chance to gain real insight from someone with deep expertise.

Knowledgeable, and accommodating to the whole group. Took us to multiple locations. Lots of fun. Highly recommend using him as your Charter Guide.

There isn’t a way that I can effectively put into word how great of an experience it was fishing with Captain Jon. He was ready to go by the time we got to the dock and we even got out on the water a bit early. I fish fresh water a lot so I was very out of my depth in salt water and he took the time to explain and teach us the techniques that he uses to fish. The fishing hasn’t been great in the area so he wasn’t able to get us on any fish(to be fair the other captains in the area he was talking to weren’t catching any either but we did get some bait fish which was still fun) but we still had a great time. He was great to talk to and very down to earth, funny and made the experience 10/10! When we come down again next year we will absolutely be booking with him again. He’s going to be our go to!

I had a total of four on our 4 hrs morning charter. Captain John and his first mate daughter had the boat waiting for us. We left the dock and a short time later he had us on Sea Trout. We caught a total of nine. Grilled them for dinner that night and had the best fish tacos. This was are second time me out with Captain John and we will be calling him for our next OBX charter. Great time! Great people.

My friends and I have never been fishing with a charter before. This was the perfect first time, being able to go out and fish for bait, fish for trout, and catch some fish for dinner was awesome. The captain and his daughter were pretty cool. They gave us recommendations for how to prepare the fish in meals that they've enjoyed as well as a place that can clean the fish for you. Overall this was a 10/10 experience and we all you definitely go again!

Captain John was committed to putting us on the fish. My boys and I had a great day targeting trout. I'd book with him again for sure!

Capt. John and Brad were awesome. They kept us on spec trout all morning. Great day on the water. High recommend for the Salty Charter crew!

Wife and I booked a full day with Captain John, hoping to get out onto the ocean and hook into some bigger fish like Amberjack or Cobia. We got out there and it ended up being way too rough before we got to the wreck we were trying to get to. Captain John suggested we go closer to shore for some trolling. Wife ended up getting sea sick so we took her back to the dock and headed back out.

Captain John and his mate provided a close and personal experience with inshore fishing in the Manteo area! The interactions with the captain sharing his historical knowledge of growing up in Manteo area made for a Great story telling experience!
